Our Mission
When it comes to screening prospective tenants, RentPrep and Stessa help landlords identify and sign quality tenants quickly. We do this by providing comprehensive tenant screening with US-based FCRA-certified screeners that verify identities and validate background check results.
Who We Are
RentPrep’s team of FCRA-certified screeners work alongside our business and support teams in our offices near Buffalo, NY. RentPrep and our sister company, Stessa, are both owned by Roofstock, Inc.
How We Got Here
Fidelis Screening Solutions began providing background checks to large employers and property management companies in 2007. This service evolved into RentPrep so that smaller landlords no longer have to settle for simplistic instant reports that are often incorrect or misleading.

We’re not just web developers who devise clever ways to package and resell others’ screening services. We know the nuances of the industry inside and out. We hire, train, and employ FCRA-certified screeners who help ensure you receive reliable and actionable screening results.
Why We Do It
We’re landlords ourselves and have experienced the pain associated with placing the wrong tenant. Helping other landlords avoid the financial and emotional disruption that comes with evictions and other tenant conflict brings smiles to our faces every day.

The Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) is a non-profit trade association founded in 2003 offering employment and tenant background screening education. The association helps to promote a high level of ethics and performance standards for the screening industry.
Concerned CRAs
Concerned CRAs is a like-minded group of CRAs (Credit Reporting Agencies) dedicated to consumer protection. There are currently only 180 members because the group must unanimously agree that each companies’ operating procedures follow the industries best-practice standards.
